Christopher Emmanuel Paul (born May 6, 1985 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina) is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Hornets of the National Basketball Association. He serves as team captain of the franchise. His nickname CP3 comes from family tradition, and the combination of his initials and jersey number is strictly a coincidence. Since being drafted 4th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft, Paul has been named a NBA Rookie of the Year Award (2006), an All-Star, listed in both All-NBA and All-Defensive teams and led the Hornets to the second round of the 2008 NBA Playoffs. He has also won an Olympic Gold Medal with the United States national basketball team.
Predrag Peja Stojakovic (born June 9, 1977 in Pozega, Croatia, Yugoslavia) is a Serbian basketball player for the NBA's New Orleans Hornets. He was selected by the Sacramento Kings in the first round (14th overall pick) of the 1996 NBA Draft. He played for the Indiana Pacers in 2006 before being traded to the New Orleans Hornets in the 2006 off-season.
The New Orleans Hornets are a professional basketball team based in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. They play in the Southwest Division of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The franchise began play during the 1988-89 NBA season as the Charlotte Hornets, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, where they were located until the end of the 2001-02 NBA season. Due to the catastrophic devastation brought by Hurricane Katrina upon the communities of southeastern Louisiana, the Hornets franchise temporarily relocated their base of operations to Oklahoma City in 2005-06 and 2006-07. During this time, the franchise was known as the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets.
